Villas el Alto esta compuesta por Casas emblemáticas y viviendas vacacionales ubicadas en el norte de Gran Canaria, de estilo tradicional canario, en el que encontrará todos los servicios que necesita en sus vacaciones de ensueño en las Islas Canarias. Está emplazado a 1000 metros de altura sobre el mar, en Fontanales, un asentamiento que tuvo su origen en la búsqueda de agua para la explotación de fincas, en las medianías del municipio de Moya.
GASTRONOMY
Fontanales is probably the territory with the most dairies per existing square meter, finding up to five cheese dairies, which offer us a wide variety of cheeses, all of them using their own livestock. The flower and half-flower cheese stand out.
ESCALATION
The unique orography of the island of Gran Canaria has created the perfect setting for mountain sports. One of the most popular is rock climbing. In the area we will find routes with options for all levels. In the Moya ravine, we will find a basalt rock with rounded shapes, sometimes a little soapy and with little adhesion.
HIKING
Fontanales is considered an ideal place to enjoy hiking, while practicing it you will enjoy the densest and greenest flora on the island of Gran Canaria. We will find circular routes, with different slopes and distances, taking into account weather conditions, experience and the physical conditions of the walker.
GEOBOTANICS
In the Fontanales area we will find the Pinar (600 to 1949 meters), depending on the orientation, it occupies large areas, with specimens of more than 20 meters and the so-called Monteverde composed of Laurisilva and fayal-brezal (500 to 1,200 meters). The vegetation is composed of laurels, tiles, barbuzanos, viñátigos, as well as fayas, ferns and heather.
